Hawaii Black Sand
One of the things people want to see is the Hawaii black sand beaches. While most beaches of Hawaii are all just regular white sand, the black sand amazes people and is out of the norm to see. If this is something you want to go see when you get to the islands then you will have to go to the big Island of Hawaii for this.
Can you take a guess at what actually causes this to happen? Yes thats right, it is the Volcano which is still active on the big island. The South East part of the island has these beaches. The water actually takes the chunks of lava and just basically breaks them up into fine granules much like a white sand beach consists of ground up shells.
It is something to see, and I am sure if you go visit you will want to put some in a bag or a jar to bring back home with you. Here are a few of the beaches you may want to see that have black sand on the island. Punaluu beach which is good for swimming, but can have strong current at times. There is also Puu Mahana beach which is actually green in color.
Have you ever heard of a green beach? Now you can go collect green sand as well to take back home from your Hawaii vacation. These beaches are some of the rarities of the island, and are pretty interesting when you see them up close. Almost seems unnatural from the norm, but it will make you feel good to see a few things most people have never seen in their entire lives.
I will be writing more about Hawaii beaches, so stay tuned and I hope you have enjoyed what you have read so far.
